Bail extended to October for Bicester ‘knife attack’ suspects

A trio arrested in the wake of an alleged knifepoint assault in Bicester remain on bail, police have confirmed.

The three men were arrested following an attack on a woman, 30s, in a property in Fakenham Street on July 19.

The arrested men were:

  • A 17-year-old boy from Bicester accused of attempted murder, section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent, aggravated burglary and being concerned in the supply of a class A drug.
  • An 18-year-old man from London arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
  • A Bicester man, 45, arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm.

Having initially been released on police bail in July, Thames Valley Police confirmed today that the three suspects have now been re-released to return to the police station to answer bail in mid-October. None of the men have been charged.

At the time of the incident, police said the woman was attacked by a group of up to five men.

DI James Holden-White of Banbury CID said: “We are in the early stages of this investigation but have no concerns at this time that there is a risk to the wider public."
