A man has appeared in court accused of assaulting his seven-week-old baby.

Kieran Groves, 45, is said by prosecutors to have caused his daughter grievous bodily harm in Bicester last April.

Alastair Yapp, prosecuting, told Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday: “It is the Crown’s case the defendant has caused injury to a seven-week-old baby, his daughter, and caused a fracture to his collarbone.”

The defendant, of Andover Close, Bicester, entered no pleas to causing grievous harm with intent on September 22 and causing grievous bodily harm.

He was granted unconditional bail to attend Oxford Crown Court on September 22 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.

Charlie Moss appeared for the defendant during the short hearing.
