Boys deny attempted murder in Banbury park stabbing

Oct 13, 2022

A trio of youths will stand trial next spring accused of trying to kill a man in Banbury’s People’s Park.

The three teenage boys, who cannot be named as they are under-18, appeared before Oxford Crown Court on Thursday afternoon.

Two of the boys were present in the dock, while a third appeared over the video link.

Each pleaded not guilty to the attempted murder of Danils Bogdancevs on June 12. An alternative charge of wounding with intent was also denied.

Prosecutors say the trio were involved in stabbing 21-year-old Mr Bogdancevs in broad daylight in People’s Park. He was stabbed three times in the chest and once in the spine, the authorities claim.

On Thursday, Judge Michael Gledhill KC re-fixed the boys’ trial for March 6 next year. They were released on bail.
