Bus service CLOSURES in Oxford City Centre today

Oxford bus company has announced closures in Oxford City Centre today relating to the passing of the Queen.

Today (Sunday, September 11) will see major curtailments to bus services in Oxford City Centre due to road closures related to the Queen’s death.

The closures will be in place all day.

Most services will be unable to operate their normal route, or will terminate at a different stop.

No services will serve Queen Street, St Aldates or the High Street in Oxford City Centre.

Below are the special timetables in place for some services:

city3/3A/5/5A/8/9/15: All services will terminate at/commence from The Plain. These services will not operate into Oxford City Centre.

cityX1: All services towards Wantage will commence from the Police Station.

city4A: All services will terminate at Speedwell Street. Services towards Botley will commence from the Police Station and operate via Westgate Oxford as normal.

city13: St Aldates will not be served. Please use the Police Station stop towards Abingdon.

A shuttle service will operate between Marston and the City Centre.

city11: All services will operate from The Plain via Iffley Road, Donnington Bridge and Abingdon Road to Speedwell Street where they will turn around for journeys back to Watlington. St Aldates and the High Street will not be served.

city11X: Special route and timetable.

cityX3: Service will operate as normal to the Police Station, before diverting via the Westgate, George Street, Banbury Road and Marston Ferry Road before resuming normal route at Cherwell Drive. The route will be the same in the other direction. A city13 shuttle service will operate between St Clements and Marston – please see above.

city46: All services will terminate at Speedwell Street and will depart from the Police Station towards Great Milton.

River Rapids X40: Within Oxford, this service will divert via Donnington Bridge and Abingdon Road, and will terminate at Speedwell Street. Services towards Reading will commence from the Police Station. Within Reading, all services will terminate at/commence from the Station North Interchange.

BROOKESbusU5: A special hourly service will be in operation, with all services terminating/commencing at The Plain.

Park&ride400/U1: This service will operate as two separate sections: Harcourt Hill to Westgate, and The Plain to Wheatley.

The airline: The only stop within Oxford City Centre will be Gloucester Green. All services will divert from Headington via Headley Way, Marston Ferry Road and Banbury Road to the City Centre.

Thames Travel X2: Services will not serve St Aldates; please use the Police Station stop towards Didcot.

All other services will run as normal.
