AN Oxford City Councillor has resigned from her post.
Residents of Hinksey Park ward will vote for their new representative on the council on September 29, after Labour councillor Marie Tidball stepped down.
The disabled Oxford University academic is standing as Labour's parliamentary candidate for Penistone and Stocksbridge, in South Yorkshire.
People living in the ward can register to vote in the by-election by visiting www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
Those wishing to stand in the by-election have until 4pm on September 2 to put their name forward. The list of candidates will then be released by September 5.
The deadline to register to vote in the by-election is September 13, the deadline to apply for a postal vote is September 14, and the deadline to apply for a proxy vote is September 21.
