A COUPLE who got married in Oxford 60 years ago celebrated their anniversary with a trip down memory lane.
Neil and Erika Thomas met at Westminster Teacher Training College in Harcourt Hill in the late 1950s when Mr Thomas was studying there and Mrs Thomas had come over from Germany to work.
They got married at St Lawrence’s Church in North Hinksey in 1962 and then lived in Marston, where their daughter Karin was born.

On Saturday, Mr Thomas, 82, and Mrs Thomas, 88, went back to the church for a service and a celebration with their family.
Karin Thomas said: “It was such a special day and a lovely celebration – I’m really happy for them, it’s remarkable that a couple can be so strong and celebrate 60 years together.
“They met in Oxford and decided to stay together, writing to each other when my mum had to return to Germany.
“They are incredible parents and it was nice to do something special and being able to celebrate their love with a small gathering of our family.”
