A moving tribute has been paid to a HGV driver who was killed when his lorry overturned on the A34.

Gary Chadwick died after he lost control of his articulated lorry which was carrying scaffolding while travelling northwards between Milton and Marcham interchanges.

Mr Chadwick, who was in his 50s and from Dartford in Kent, sadly died at the scene despite the efforts of paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service and the Air Ambulance.

The road was closed for over nine hours and police issued an appeal for witnesses and dash cam footage following the crash which happened at around 8.40am on August 30.

Terrible pictures showed how the lorry had overturned across several lanes.

Mr Chadwick's heartbroken daughter Jay Wordley told the Oxford Mail her father will be "missed so much" after the tragic crash.

She said “he was a loving father and grandad".

Ms Wordley said: "He had a massive passion for being a lorry driver and, in the past, a lorry mechanic. He loved long distance driving.

"He was a loving family man who has always been there for us his seven children – Jay, Kerrie, Adam, Liam, Kieran, Chloe and Aaron – when we needed.

He also adored his grandchildren Dylan, Miley-Rae, Freddie, Harry, Teddy and Logan and Danny-Lee and Taylor.

He was a loving husband to Michelle.

Ms Wordley said: "He will be truly missed by everyone who knew him especially his wife and children."
