Detectives investigate sexual assault of woman in Jericho

A woman was sexually assaulted in Jericho – having been followed by the man for half a mile, police said.

Thames Valley Police said the man, said to be aged between 40 and 50, attacked the victim, 30s, on Winchester Road at around 11pm to 11.15pm last night.

The woman managed to get away from him, but he followed then and sexually assaulted her near Little Clarendon Street, Jericho.

DI Rachel Carter said: “I would like to appeal to anybody who may have been in this area during this time and witnessed anything, or have any footage, to please get in touch."

The victim suffered 'minor injuries' but did not require hospital treatment, police said.

Her attacker is described as a man, aged between 40 and 50, roughly 5ft 7ins tall and of stocky or muscular build. He had short hair and spoke with an eastern European accent.
