We’ve rounded up some of our favourite dishes from all the places we’ve eaten this month. The stand out bangers we’d happily go back and eat again and again…and again. If any tickle your fancy, you best get down and try them sharpish, just don’t blame us if the “daily changing menu” has already wiped ’em out!
Everything, and we mean everything, at the new Bubala in Soho is on point but these oyster mushroom skewers were next level. Order more than one because they are not for sharing.

Beautifully charred mackerel on a divine salmorejo sauce at The Baring, which is pretty to look at and even nicer to eat. This is how you do pub grub.

The snack game at Acleaf in South Devon is on point, especially the aged parmesan sable crackers and truffle saucisson. Nine courses of those and we would have left very happy indeed.

The anchovy toast at Bottle and Rye with butter and honey – salty, sweet, crunchy, fatty. Holy sh*tballs I could eat a million of these.

Pate at the new wine bar in my neighbourhood, Cadet, so good I’ve been back twice to eat it. Though I’d expect no less with a charcutier in the basement

Aeolian salad at Plant Club, another new addition to Newington Green. Punchy, herby, fresh AF plate of the best quality tomatoes. Brilliant.

Banging pizza, seriously good, inside a Dutch barn on Dew Farm at Tillingham Wines. What’s not to like. Worth the trip if you ask me.

Chez Janou is a place I can’t not go to when in the French capital. The moules gratin are a forever fave and never disappoint, even if they do threaten to burn your lips off if you go in too soon.

This creamy prawn laksa is courtesy of the hidden gem that is Phat Phuc (literal translation is happy Buddha), right off the Kings Road in Chelsea. I’d rather keep this one a little secret, but it’s just too good and cheap to not share. I’d 100% eat here every day if I could.

This bread at ACME Fire Cult is like no other you’ve ever tried – sourdough from Dusty Knuckle slathered in Acme “Marmite” butter with a generous mountain of pecorino grated on top. You will be ordering at least 3 plates of this. Trust me.
