FORMER Oxford United winger Marcus Browne has signed a deal until the end of the season with Sky Bet League Two side AFC Wimbledon.
The 27-year-old has been without a club since being released by United in May, but now links up with a Dons side sitting fifth in League Two.
Browne had three stints with the U’s, making 119 appearances in all competitions, and scoring 19 goals.
He initially joined on loan from West Ham United for the 2018/19 season, before returning for the second half of the 2019/20 campaign, this time on loan from Middlesbrough.
Browne then signed from Boro for an undisclosed fee on January deadline day in 2022.
A hamstring injury, and then a recurrence of it, saw Browne miss a significant chunk of last season, limiting him to 15 appearances.

After joining the Dons, he told the club website: “This team is in a great position. While everything is moving forward, I feel I can bring my qualities and help propel the club even further up the table, and be in and around it at the end of the season.”
Dons boss Johnnie Jackson added: “Marcus is a player that I’ve known and admired for a long time.
“I’ve tried to sign him previously but it didn’t quite work out, so I’m delighted to finally bring him to Wimbledon.
“He is creative and dynamic in attack, has an eye for goal, and quality beyond this level. It’s great to add another attacking option to help us during the second half of the season.”
