REECE Fleet has moved up to fifth in the Oxford City all-time appearance list.

The 32-year-old midfielder recorded his 432nd appearance for the Hoops in the goalless draw at Chorley.

Fleet captained the team in Lancashire and overtook Ron Goodison’s figure of 431 games for City.

The Hoops had enough chances to open the scoring against the Magpies, with home goalkeeper Matt Urwin denying a drilled Lewis Coyle effort, although at the other end, Kai McKenzie-Lyle had to get down well and palm a Courtney Senior shot behind for a corner.

Corie Andrews was then set through on goal for City, and he unselfishly squared the ball for Josh Parker, who hit the post after a bobble in the turf changed the trajectory of the strike.

Five minutes into the second half, Zac McEachran was denied by a flying challenge from Blackpool loanee Jack Moore.

McEachran did well to squeeze through and find space for a shot just inside the penalty area, but was met by a brilliant block from Moore.

The best chance of the game arguably fell with 20 minutes to go, as McEachran fed Parker through on goal, but when one-on-one with Urwin, the striker was denied by the Magpies goalkeeper.

With the last kick of the game, the Magpies could’ve won it, as Mike Calveley cut the ball back to the edge of the box for former Banbury United winger Craig Hewitt, who fired inches over the crossbar.
