OXFORD City remain hovering above the Vanarama National League North relegation zone after being smashed 7-0 at home against Buxton.

The Hoops lost Freddy Willcox to injury inside the first minute, prior to conceding three times in quick succession at the end of the first half.

Luke Brennan netted from the penalty spot seven minutes before the break, after Canice Carroll was penalised for a handball, and five minutes later, Connor Kirby struck from range. Four minutes before half-time, Johnny Johnston found space and fired past Laurie Walker.

The visitors picked up where they left off three minutes into the second period, as Brennan secured his brace from a Johnston cross. City had Reece Fleet shown a red card soon after for a lunge on Tom Elliott.

The final three goals came in a 10-minute spell, as Keziah Martin waltzed through, Johnston got his second, and Faisu Sangare found the top right-hand corner.
