A man has admitted torching his home in Carterton.

Firefighters from five stations were called to the property in Elm Close, Carterton, shortly after midday on July 1.

The house was gutted, with pictures at the scene showing the charred remains of the roof.

Boore, formerly of Elm Close, Carterton, had already pleaded guilty at the magistrates’ court to possession of four steak knives at Carterton police station.

Judge Michael Gledhill QC remanded him in custody to return to the crown court on September 1 for sentence. He ordered a pre-sentence report.
