An alleged killer will appear before the Recorder of Oxford this morning.
Mihai Hurmuz-Irimia, 28, is accused of murdering his wife, 40-year-old Katie, at their home in Blue Mountains, Wallingford, last week.
Police were called to the flat at around 2am on Tuesday, August 30, to reports of a woman having been injured. A post-mortem investigation later found that she had died from stab wounds to the chest and neck.
Hurmuz-Irimia faces a single count of murder.
He appeared before the city magistrates’ court on Friday and, in line with the legal rules governing murder cases, was remanded in custody to attend Oxford Crown Court today.
The south Oxfordshire man is due before the Recorder of Oxford, Judge Ian Pringle QC, at 10am this morning.
