MARK Harris is enjoying the partnership he is forming with Ole Romeny at Oxford United.

The duo started up front together as United switched to a 3-5-2 formation for the 1-1 draw at Norwich City.

Inside the first 60 seconds at Carrow Road, Harris pinched the ball from Jacob Sorensen, allowing Romeny to fire a left-footed effort into the gloves of Vicente Reyes.

Harris then got on the scoresheet when he scrapped in from close range following a long throw-in from Will Vaulks, and in the second half, Harris got into the right channel of the penalty box, however Romeny was unable to make contact with the cutback.

Harris said: “I’ve got to be honest, I’ve enjoyed playing with him, and Ruben [Rodrigues] when he came on as well.

“I’ve played with Ruben a lot, but Ole’s come in and he’s done fantastic. He got his first goal last weekend, and I think we played some nice stuff together.

“We knew it was going to be tough, but we just had to stay in shape, and fair play to him, he worked his socks off.

“He had a chance early, I got a goal, and I set him up in the second half. I thought we did quite well together, and praise to Ruben when he came on. He did well as well.”

The trip to Carrow Road saw the U’s switch from their usual 4-2-3-1 set-up, and the strengthened defensive unit frustrated the home side.

Harris said: “I think we’re quite flexible. We’ve got a couple of formations we’re happy to use. The gaffer decided to go with the three centre halves and the five across midfield, and the two up top, and we got a point away at Norwich, so you could say it worked.”

Harris netted his sixth goal of the season at Carrow Road, and his first since Boxing Day.

He said: “It was about time, let’s put it that way. It’s great to be on the scoresheet, but the main thing is that point.

“We had chances to win it. I know they dominated possession, but we had a few chances, and in the first minute, we had a chance with Ole.

“I had one in the second half. We come to these grounds, they’re good teams, a great atmosphere, and I’m sure they’re pushing towards the play-offs.

“They play some lovely stuff, so we knew we were going to be under the cosh at times, but we had chances to win it.

“It was a good team performance. I think we all knuckled down and put a foot in, and gave our everything. We got a point to show for that and we’re happy with that.”
