Marylebone station to be closed for several hours on Sunday

A key London station for people travelling from Oxford will be closed on Sunday for several hours.

Marylebone station will be shut on September 4 until around 11am due to engineering works.

During this period, an amended timetable will be in operation, and Chiltern Railways trains will only operate north of West Ruislip and Amersham. Connecting London Underground services should be used as follows:

  • Marylebone – Oxford Circus – Northolt – South Ruislip – West Ruislip.
  • Marylebone – Baker Street – Harrow On The Hill – Rickmansworth – Chorleywood – Chalfont & Latimer – Amersham.

Some journeys will take considerably longer than usual, and may involve travel via alternative routes, on other operator's services and/or rail replacement bus services.

First through trains to Marylebone on Sunday 4 September:

  • 08.47 Birmingham Moor Street – Marylebone.
  • 09.33 Aylesbury – Marylebone (via High Wycombe).
  • 09.41 Oxford – Marylebone.
  • 10.15 Aylesbury Vale Parkway – Marylebone (via Amersham).

First through trains from Marylebone on Sunday 4 September:

  • 11.00 Marylebone – Birmingham Moor Street.
  • 11.12 Marylebone – Oxford.
  • 11.53 Marylebone – Aylesbury (via High Wycombe).
  • 11.57 Marylebone – Aylesbury Vale Parkway (via Amersham).

Please refer to the route map attached. Customers can check their journey before they travel on the Chiltern Railways website (http://www.chilternrailways.co.uk) or app.
