Meet Thames Valley Police’s cutest new recruit

Thames Valley Police welcomed its newest – and cutest – recruit to the team, an adorable pup who will work as a police dog.

The Dutch Shepard called Lara has joined the Thames Valley, Hampshire and Isle of White Dog Section.

This part of the police force sees officers and police dogs work together to bring criminals to justice.

In August, Thames Valley’s police and crime commissioner Matthew Barber and police and crime commissioner for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight Donna Jones awarded £48,992 of funding to enhance the first aid response of all dog section officers.

“Dog handlers attend a range of incidents and their ability to deploy this equipment when arriving on scene can make a real difference to keeping our communities safe across Thames Valley,” Mr Barber said.
