Mihai Hurmuz-Irimia charged in connection with Wallingford ‘murder’

A MAN has been charged in connection with a murder investigation in Wallingford.

Mihai Hurmuz-Irimia, 28, of Blue Mountains, Wallingford, is accused of stabbing a woman, 40s, to death.

The alleged victim's name is yet to be released by the police. However, she has been named locally as married mum Katie Hurmuz-Irimia.

The alleged killer is due to appear at Oxford Magistrates Court tomorrow (September 2).

The charge is in connection with the death of woman at a house in Blue Mountains on Tuesday (August 30).

Thames Valley Police said that a post-mortem examination concluded that the provisional cause of death was given as stab wounds to the neck and chest.

Senior investigating officer detective chief inspector Jon Capps, of Thames Valley Police’s major crime unit, said: “The family of the victim continues to be supported by specially trained officers.

“My thoughts and the thoughts of all of us at Thames Valley Police remain with the victim’s family and friends.”
