No coronavirus deaths in Oxford this week

NO more coronavirus deaths have been recorded over the latest weekly period in Oxford.

A total of 222 people had died across the city when the UK coronavirus dashboard was updated on Wednesday (August 31) which was unchanged from a week previously.

They were among 24,283 deaths recorded across the South East in total.

The figures include anyone who died within 28 days of a positive test result for covid-19 and whose usual residence was in Oxford.

A total of 164,624 deaths were recorded throughout England by Wednesday (August 31) which is up from 164,168 last week.

The number of people infected in Oxfordshire is also going down. Last week, the total went from 577 to 481 putting the infection rate at 69 per 100,000 of the population.
