Filthy Buns are going big for National Burger Day with brand new special, the VAVA-SHOOM Burger. A twist on the classic bacon, mushroom & Swiss burger, Filthy Buns founder John Gladwell has created a blended patty that’s half beef, half mushrooms, making it more sustainable without losing any of that important umami flavour. Fry Up Police X Polo Bar English Breakfast Burger
Polo Bar is introducing the ultimate Breakfast Burger to their menu this National Burger Day. They’ve teamed up with breakfast experts Fry Up Police to create the new special which features a beef patty on a brioche bun with streaky bacon, a free-range fried egg, melted cheese, tomato, black pudding, hash browns, and doused in F.U.Sauce from the Sauce Shop. The stacked sandwich will be available until the 25th of August, and although it’s technically breakfast, you can get it any time of the day – in true Polo Bar style.

Yard Sale Pizza’s Summer Guest Chef Series
Yard Sale Pizza is taking its collabs up a notch with a summer guest chef series, featuring three of the city’s best loved chefs and restaurants. First up is Ixta Belfrage with Ixta’s Pineapple Pizza, inspired by her new cookbook MEZCLA, with maple-glazed pineapple, Sicilian sausage, charred spring onion, curry habanero onions, fresh jalapeños, fior di latte mozzarella & tomato sauce. On 31st August, Head Chef Sirichai Kularbwong of Singburi will be doing the Gaeng Pizza Gang, with Kua Kling dry fried pork, pickled mustard greens, fresh Thai shallots, green peppercorns, Thai basil & fior di latte mozzarella, and finally on 14th September, Forza Wine will be celebrating the re-opening of Forza Win in Camberwell with the Wind Your Neck In, with braised harissa lamb neck, tomatoes, pink pickled onions & fior di latte mozzarella. Mooncakes at Yauatcha
To celebrate this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival, Yauatcha is serving up two limited-edition mooncakes at both the Soho and City restaurants and also on delivery. You can choose between the baked egg custard mooncake or the kaya snow skin mooncake with sweet coconut jam filling, or you can get a box of eight packaged with a bespoke illustration of the immortal jade rabbit in a nod to the legend behind the festival.

Honest Burgers x Singapore Tourism Board
Honest Burgers are celebrating Singapore’s rich culinary scene in time for the Singapore Food Festival (24th August – 11th September) with a special burger in collaboration with the Singapore Tourism Board. Inspired by Zi Char cuisine, the buttermilk fried chicken thigh burger comes with bacon, American cheese, sambal confit garlic mayo, smacked pickles, red onions and lettuce. And to complete the meal, you can pair the burger with the exclusive craft beer that’s been made by Singaporean brewery Off Day Beer Co. and UK-based brewery Northern Monk.

For their latest monthly spesh, Patty & Bun have teamed up HG Walter, one of the best butchers in the biz, to create The Galician. Udon noodle masters Koya have got into the dessert game by teaming up with Happy Endings for a collab ice cream sandwich. Mooncakes at Bun House
Bun House is celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival, the point when the moon is at its roundest and brightest, with limited-edition mooncakes. The set in includes sweet lotus, sweet bean, chestnut cream and silken egg custard flavours, with the fillings encased in pastry embossed with Cantonese designs symbolising longevity and prosperity, and packaged in a hand woven box. James Cochran is taking surf & turf to the next level for his take on Burger & Lobster’s lobster roll. Seoul Bird x Big Zuu’s Salone Sandwich
Judy Joo is running a collab chicken sandwich series at Seoul Bird, where different celebs will put their own spin on a burger to raise money for suicide prevention charity CALM. Big Zuu is first up and he’s drawing on Sierra Leonean for his Salone Sandwich, which includes Seoul Bird’s fried chicken, dressed in a West African sauce made from ginger, garlic, tomato & African Maggi seasoning, and topped with fried plantains, lettuce and a lime Kewpie mayo. His bun will be available until September, with collabs with Lady Leshurr and Phil Wang following.
