OXFORD City came away with a point in an entertaining fixture against fellow play-off chasers Tonbridge Angels.

The Hoops were 2-0 up at half-time in Kent, thanks to goals from Josh Ashby and Josh Parker.

However, the hosts scored two superb goals in the second half to ensure both sides claimed a point.

City took the lead when Jean-Baptiste Fischer laid the ball into the box for Ashby to run onto, and the midfielder fired into the corner.

Ross Jenkins’ side doubled their advantage when Parker bravely nodded home after Lewis Coyle’s strike from outside the box cannoned off the post.

In the second half, Ruben Soares-Junior left Ben Dudzinski with no chance when he found the top corner after cutting onto his left foot from outside the box.

The Angels made it 2-2 when Jeremy Santos’ 25-yard effort found the net.

The Hoops are now 12th in Vanarama National League South, three points outside the play-off places.

Banbury United slipped to third in National League North after a 1-1 draw at Blyth Spartans.

Michael Richardson gave the hosts the lead on 51 minutes, before Giorgio Rasulo equalised from the penalty spot.

The Puritans are three points behind leaders King’s Lynn Town.
