Oxford clearly already missing its favourite detective Endeavour

Aug 25, 2022

As Endeavour wraps up filming in Oxford for good, Oxford City Council has been looking back and inviting people to suggest their favourite scenes.

ITV has confirmed that Endeavour series 9 will be the last, and after some filming in late August in the city a few scenes will be completed in other locations.

The Inspector Morse spin-off starring Shaun Evans and Roger Allam launched in 2012 and scenes have been shot on location in the city ever since.

The council tweeted a selection of pictures from 2018 when the film crew were in Florence Park with the hashtag Throwback Thursday.

And they asked people to join in with comments about their favourite Morse plotlines.

Film crews were in the city earlier this month for what has turned out to be the final time for Oxford's famous fictional detective.

Location trucks were first spotted at the Kings Centre on the Osney Mead industrial estate and some scenes were filmed in and around Radcliffe Square.

Then film crews moved to shoot scenes at Parson's Pleasure, St John's Street and Turl Street, where Shaun Evans was pictured near a joke shop.
