An Oxford MP has slammed new Prime Minister Liz Truss and said she “simply does not have the answers” to the country’s problems.
Ms Truss become the new UK prime minister after being appointed by the Queen at Balmoral Castle this afternoon.

East Oxford MP Anneliese Dodds, however, has criticsed Ms Truss and her approach to the cost of living crisis.
Labour MP Ms Dodds said: “Liz Truss simply does not have the answers to the problems that our country is facing.
“All we have to show for the twelve years of Conservative governments she supported is a cost of living crisis which will force many in Oxford East to choose between heating and eating this winter.
“Liz Truss needs to change tack, and immediately agree to Labour's plans to tackle the cost of living crisis, including a commitment to freeze energy prices this winter.”
