KARL Robinson admits he would not be disappointed if Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira left his stars at home tonight.

The Eagles travel to the Kassam Stadium for the Carabao Cup second round tie against Oxford United (7.45pm).

Vieira has already suggested he will name a strong squad against the U’s, who are without eight first-team players due to injury.

It means the Premier League side will be clear favourites against their Sky Bet League One opponents and Robinson expects a stern test.

United’s head coach said: “I’d like him to put his weakest team out, I’m not going to lie to you.

“If he wants to bring his Under 18s it would be a great game, because our (team’s) age will probably be an average of 21 or 22.

“You want to play against the best teams and as a manager, you’re coming up against an iconic figure in Patrick.

“In the short time he’s been a manager he’s changed the way Crystal Palace play.

“One of their first-team coaches used to manage, (first-team coach) Shaun Derry has been here as well, so they’ll be aware of what we have and the way we play.

“Whatever he plays, it’ll be a challenge and we’ll make sure we’re ready for it.”

Derry was first-team coach at United in 2018/19, Robinson’s first full season as U’s boss.
