THE Oxford Mail player ratings for Oxford United’s 1-1 draw with Morecambe in Sky Bet League One.

SIMON EASTWOOD

The visitors only had one shot on target and he probably should have done better. Some loose clearances with the ball at his feet – 5

SAM LONG

The goal came down his side but this was a game that tested him going forward more than defensively. Passing was occasionally sloppy and his crossing could have been better – 5.5

CIARON BROWN

Did his best to get United playing out from the back, even though that is not his game. Strong in the air and his long throws gave the hosts an extra dimension. BOOKED – 6.5

STUART FINDLAY

Tidy but unadventurous with the ball, other than a couple of positive passes down the left before the break. Kept Morecambe’s strikers quiet – 6.5

STEVE SEDDON

Crossing was also a little disappointing given his ability on his left foot, but he was a good outlet when he pushed up after the interval. Beaten to the ball by Love in the build-up to Morecambe’s goal – 6

MARCUS MCGUANE

Writing the same thing every week and long may it continue. Barely gave the ball away, strong running brought United up the pitch and not afraid to make a tackle. Hopefully his injury was just cramp. MAN OF THE MATCH – 7.5

JAMES HENRY

An early effort whistled wide, but he had a quiet first half. Involved more after the break and could have scored in the build-up to Joseph’s equaliser – 6

CAMERON BRANNAGAN

United’s best first-half chance fell his way and he peppered Morecambe’s goal with more shots after the break. Another one who kept possession well – 6

BILLY BODIN

Drifted in and out of the game before he was replaced by Spasov after the hour mark. Thought we might see more of him in the No 10 role – 5.5

KYLE JOSEPH

Scored a poacher’s goal and set up other key chances, including Brannagan’s first-half chance and Spasov’s late opportunity. Showed great energy throughout – 7

MATTY TAYLOR

Had very little to feed off before the break, but became more involved as the game went on. Involved in the equaliser and linked the play well when he dropped deeper – 6
