LIAM Gilbert is anticipating a tricky fixture as Oxford United Women look to remain top of the league.

The U’s have won their first three games in the Southern Premier Division, and are yet to concede a goal.

A 2-0 win at Plymouth Argyle on Sunday was followed up with by a 3-0 victory at home to London Bees in midweek.

Cheltenham Town are the visitors to Court Place Farm on Sunday, and have started strongly following promotion last season, winning two of their opening three matches.

United manager Gilbert said: “They won their league last season and have continued that positive momentum.

“They’ve got some really good players and are a really organised team.

“We know to expect a tough game and we can hopefully give a good account of ourselves.”

Ensuring players are rested between games is key for Gilbert.

“We didn’t get back until 10:30pm on Sunday night, they had a day to recover, and then they put in a performance like that against London Bees,” he said.

Daisy McLachlan added: “It’s going to be another hard game, but we are going to be at home so we want to make sure we can continue the unbeaten success we’ve had here.”
