Oxford woman’s death alcohol related after found in garden

THE death of a woman who was found deceased after a night out with work colleagues has been ruled as “alcohol related”.

Francesca Tonkin, 34, of Aldebarton Drive in Headington, died on February 10 this year after going out with colleagues in the evening of February 9.

At an inquest at Oxford’s Coroners Court on Wednesday (10), it was heard that her medical cause of death was alcohol intoxication with aspiration of vomit.

After the night out, Miss Tonkin returned home at about 11.20pm and fell in the front garden sustaining a minor head injury.

She remained on the ground where she was sick and aspirated on the vomit. Her neighbours found her at about 11.40am the following morning.

Senior coroner Darren Michael Salter concluded that her death was “ alcohol related”.
