DOZENS of tributes have appeared in Wallingford after a woman was found dead earlier this week.

Friends and family of Katie Hurmuz-Irimia, who was pronounced dead in Blue Mountains by Thames Valley Police at 2am on Tuesday (August 30), have left dozens of flowers, cards and a lit lantern in front of the house where she was found.

One card reads: “Dear Katie, I cannot believe I am writing this, you were such an amazing friend and neighbour, we had some brilliant times, you were taken too soon, sleep tight.”

Meanwhile, a 28-year-old man from Wallingford has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

This afternoon police confirmed that the magistrates had granted an extension to the amount of time officers have to quiz the man.

They have until 5am tomorrow morning (Friday) to either charge the suspect, release him without charge or bail him to return to the police station on a future date.
