POPULAR defender Canice Carroll has returned to Oxford City.
The 26-year-old Oxford-born player played a key role in the Hoops getting promoted to the Vanarama National League during the 2022/23 campaign, and then again when in the National League.
Carroll came through the academy at Oxford United, where he made 25 first team appearances prior to a switch to Brentford in August 2018.
After loans at Swindon Town and Carlisle United, Carroll had stints with Stevenage and Queen’s Park before joining City in August 2021.
Carroll left the Hoops last summer and was most recently playing for Salisbury in National League South.

City manager Ross Jenkins told the club website: “I know the fans will love seeing Canice come back to the club.
“He is a very good defender and a leader who demands the best from those around him. He has been playing regularly so we know he is fit, and he will go straight into the squad that travels to King’s Lynn tomorrow.”
Carroll added: “It’s a club that means a lot to me and as soon as the possibility came up, I jumped at the chance.
“Ross is an excellent manager and knows my game inside out, so I’m looking forward to working with him and the staff again, and obviously I know a lot of the players already which will help me settle back in.
“There are some big games coming up and I can’t wait to play a part in getting the club back to where they want to be.”
