Staff from Berry Recruitment Group raised almost £2,500 for the mental health charity Mind – by travelling 421 miles.
The mileage is the distance between the group’s Cornwall and Darlington branches and staff were encouraged to cover that distance in any way they liked.
They walked, ran and cycled and the group – headquartered in St Albans, with a branch in Osney Mead, Oxford – donated a pound for every mile covered.

In the end a distance of 2,431 miles was achieved – almost six times as far as the target; meaning £2,431 was raised during Mental Health Awareness Month.
Further donations from the individuals taking part increased the amount given to £2,715.
Chris Chown, managing director, said: “Mental health is something everyone has and we all want it to be better rather than poorer.
“Mind is a charity that does fantastic work in helping those who are suffering and also raises awareness.
“Our donation we hope will help Mind, but the process also showed our staff the benefit of good mental health.
“Furthermore, exercise is known to improve mental health and those taking part exchanged pics and experiences in a WhatsApp group.
“We had staff from across our branches getting involved and the feedback was extremely positive.
“Once, mental health was a taboo subject but now it is very much a focus of all good employers.”
