Road sweeping company in court for alleged access of water

A ROAD sweeping company could face a large fine for allegedly accessing water without consent.

Priority Plant Agricultural Services Limited, of Grantham, Lincolnshire, has been charged with “attaching pipe or apparatus to resource or water main or service pipe without consent”.

The incident in question happened on October 12 last year in Oxfordshire and the water undertaker was Thames Water.

On the same day, the company is also charged with an “unlawful installation of water fitting” on the junction of Sycamore Drive and Maple Close, Bodicote.

The company allegedly “installed, connected, arranged or used a water fitting, namely a water fitting, in such a manner that it caused or was likely to cause the erroneous measurement of water supplied by Thames Water Utilities Limited”.

If guilty, the company could face a fine of up to £1,000.
