OXFORD United Women secured a third consecutive win with a 1-0 victory at home against Plymouth Argyle.
The U’s took the lead in the fourth minute when Phoebie Poole slotted home, and from there, the hosts were able to go on and claim all three points.
Zoe Barratt won a first half free kick just outside the penalty area after being on the receiving end of a late tackle, and she then stepped up and took the set piece herself, but the effort went over the crossbar.
In the final quarter of an hour, a long-range effort from the visitors forced Beth Howard into a save, pushing the ball over the crossbar for a corner.

United manager Sam Rose said: “It was a battle. I think they’re a good side. They’ve got some good players who are athletic and it’s a little bit of a surprise they are where they are to be honest.
“To win the game was really pleasing. We scored really early. We kept a clean sheet and dug in.
“They had a bit about them and created a few chances. They’re a threat, so to keep them out, I’m really pleased with that.
“It’s another win and another clean sheet, and I can’t ask for more than that really.”
The victory backed up the 3-0 win collected at home against bottom side MK Dons on Thursday night.
Barratt netted in the first half before Poole grabbed a second half brace against the Dons.
