Hip-hop legends the Beastie Boys are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their iconic 1992 album Check Your Head and to honour the occasion, they’re teaming up with sportswear brand Champion for a limited-edition collab collection. The band’s multi-platinum third album was the first to be recorded at their own G-Son studios in LA and the first to be produced in its entirety by the Beastie Boys with Mario Caldato Jr. It also marked the return of live instrumentation to the group’s sound, with Mike D on drums, Adrock on guitar and MCA on bass.
Champion, which was producing uniforms for the NBA teams at the same time as the Beastie Boys were making music, has long been linked with hip-hop culture, so this collab – the ultimate 90s team-up – just makes sense. The collection is made up of 17 pieces, including signature Champion sweatshirts and tees in white, grey and black featuring iconography from the album.
The range drops on 8th December but you can get a sneak peek at the launch party on 6th December, where the drinks will be flowing and Jamo Beatz will be on the decks. The party is strictly invite-only but we’ve got FOUR tickets up for grabs exclusively for our INSIDERS, so if you wanna be there, we’ve got the info for you below.
