FIREFIGHTERS have rescued a 27-year-old horse after it got stuck in a ditch.

Crews from Kidlington Fire Station and Wheatley Fire Station were called to rescue the large animal after it was found inside a ditch running alongside a field in Kidlington.

With the assistance of a local vet, the crews were able to successfully free the horse by pulling it out from the ditch with rope.
