Oxford cinema and theatre listing changes after Queen’s death

An update on the city’s theatres and cinemas’ showtime changes following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

The New Theatre, on George Street, has announced that customers with bookings for performances in the coming days will be contacted with further information.

Though shows this evening (September 8), went ahead as planned.

The North Wall Arts Centre, in Summertown, went ahead with tonight’s performance as planned, but with the addition of a moment of silence and reflection to mark the monarch’s passing.

Shows have not been altered otherwise.

Other theatres, including Oxford Playhouse, Sheldonian Theatre, Old Fire Station, Pheonix Picturehouse and The Ultimate Picture Palace are yet to release statements on their website, but listings appear to be going ahead as planned.

Cinemas in Oxford – having offered their sympathies on social media – have not altered or cancelled their showings.

This includes Vue Cinema, both Odeons and Curzon.

The O2 Academy – in Cowley Road – has not altered or cancelled its showings either.
