Oxford’s Popeyes store set to open on Queen Street

Crowds are expected to queue up in Queen Street this weekend to get their hands on Popeyes famous chicken sandwich, as the store opens its doors to hungry customers.

Founded in New Orleans in 1972, Popeyes serves a New Orleans style menu featuring spicy chicken, chicken tenders, fried shrimp and other regional items.

The chain currently has more than 3,700 restaurants in the US and around the world.

The US chicken brand will open its fifth UK branch in Oxford city centre on Saturday (September 17) at 11am.

Oxford’s Popeyes will be giving their first 50 customers a free Chicken Sandwich and merchandise.

While the first three people in the queue winning the ultimate giveaway of free Chicken Sandwiches for the next year.

Prior to the branch opening, the Oxford Mail got a sneak peek look inside the restaurant.

Popeyes UK Oxford is located at 36 – 37 Queen St, Oxford, OX1 1ER and will seat up to 90 people with the following opening hours: Monday – Sunday 10:30am – 10pm.
