Roads remain closed after burst water pipe and major flooding on Oxford ring road

Roads remain closed and diversions have been put in place after a water pipe burst this morning on Oxford ring road.

Severe flooding began this morning and continued for several hours near Heyford Hill roundabout following a burst 24-inch-diameter water main on Oxford ring road.

Police closed off the surrounding roads, foot and cycle paths as water levels increased.

The A423 remains closed eastbound from Kennington roundabout to Heyford Hill (A4074).

There is also no access to Abingdon Road northbound at Kennington roundabout if you have come westbound on the A423 from Heyford Hill.

The A4142 also remains closed in both directions between Heyford Hill and Rose Hill (A4158) roundabouts.

There are still long delays on the A415 eastbound out of Abingdon to Clifton Hampden as traffic diverts
