South Central Ambulance Service to play major part in Queen’s funeral: how to access medical care

Our local ambulance service will be playing a significant role in the Queen's funeral.

Following the State funeral service at Westminster Abbey, the procession will travel to St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle where the committal will take place.

As the ambulance service for that area, South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) staff and crews will play a major part in proceedings, working alongside partners such as St John Ambulance and other emergency services.

In a statement, SCAS said: "Our planning will ensure that we help to keep visitors safe as they visit Windsor to pay their respects, but equally to ensure that events in Windsor do not impact upon our normal 999 response in local communities in and around Windsor at this time."

The advice for the public who might need medical care and advice over this period is that they should continue to access care in the same way as they would ordinarily.

For serious and life-threatening medical incidents and accidents, call 999.
