Teenage skateboarder from Thame has dreams smashed

A teenage skateboarder has had to put her international tournament plans on hold after a cancellation.

Lilly Strachan, 14, from Thame, was all set to represent the British skateboarding team in her first international competition, held in Rio de Janeiro.

However, the tournament has been cancelled and there’s no indication as to whether another is being planned by the Brazilian federation.

Lilly is a self-taught skater, who won a major competition last year.

She is the reigning British Vert champion for 2021 and advocates skateboarding as a way to change people’s lives for the better.

Lilli said she is keen to do well but also wants to have fun whilst skating.
