A burglar who swiped a set of car keys then took a BMW X5 will be sentenced next month.

Daniel Peachey, 21, was due to learn his fate at Oxford Crown Court on Wednesday – two months after the magistrates found him guilty of entering a property in Queen Emma’s Dyke, Witney, as a trespasser and stealing BMW car keys.

The burglary was committed on May 23 this year.

He admitted other charges of taking a BMW X5 without consent and driving the 2018-plate 4×4 without a valid licence or insurance in Corn Street.

On Wednesday, Judge Michael Gledhill KC adjourned sentence for the preparation of a probation report. Peachey, of Corn Street, Witney, was bailed to return to court on November 2 for sentence.

Robert Lindsey appeared for the Crown Prosecution Service. Angela Porter represented the defendant.
