THE headteacher of a Wiltshire school has paid tribute to three of its former pupils who died in a car crash last week.

The fatal accident took place on the A420 near Faringdon on Sunday morning.

Two 18-year-old men and a 20-year-old man were travelling in a Black Ford Fiesta when it was involved in a crash with a coach and white Alfa Romeo.

They died at the scene.

Two other men who were also in the Fiesta, aged 19 and 21, sustained injuries and were taken to hospital, but have since been discharged.

It has now been confirmed that all five of them attended Sheldon School in Chippenham.

The school's headteacher Neil Spurdell said the news has "really shocked and saddened the whole school community".

Mr Spurdell added: "The boys left just two years ago and we remember them very well.

“This is such a terrible tragedy and our thoughts and condolences go out to their family and friends who will be absolutely devastated."

Micháel Turner who was friends with one of the men said: “It’s a shock to us all.

“Never thought it would happen to him.

“Me and him just started our friendship last year so weren't really really close… but it was something special, never had a bad word about anyone and always put people first- he was such a talented guy as well."
