Has parking suspension been suspended at Broad Street?

Parking does not appear to have been suspended at Broad Street.

The city centre street will be pedestrianised as part of an 18-month trial by Oxfordshire County Council.

It follows the success of Broad Meadow which ran for several months last summer after the Covid-19 pandemic and saw thousands of people visit the city.

Ticket machines and parking are due to be removed from the street, with planters and seating placed there instead.

Oxford Mail:

On September 16 bollards were put in place and work seemed to have started on creating the new public space.

However, as our picture shows there were plenty of cars parked there today.

Oxfordshire County Council has been contacted.
