A water company has announced the water supply should be back but is setting up bottled water stations just in case.

A pipe burst on Tuesday near Heyford Hill roundabout, which led to multiple road closures, school closures and left hundreds of houses without a water supply.

Thames Water set up water bottle stations at nearby sites to ensure people living in the affected areas could get water.

A spokesperson for Thames Water said: “We are confident that supplies for all customers will be back from tonight, although customers on high ground may take longer.

“As a precaution we are opening bottles water stations tomorrow in the same locations as today in case of further unforeseen delays.”

The water bottle stations are at Tesco in Ambassador Avenue, Oxford, Asda in London Road, Wheatley and Chinnor RFC, Kingsley Road, Thame.
