A man has appeared in court accused of causing death by driving while uninsured.
Prosecutors say Dimche Kuzevski, 59, was behind the wheel of the 57-plate VW Crafter van on the A420 near Tubney when he struck Antony Whitter shortly after 5am on September 1, 2020.
Mr Whitter, said by Thames Valley Police at the time to have been a 59-year-old Gloucestershire man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Kuzevski, of Bailey Road, Oxford, appeared before the city’s magistrates’ court this afternoon and indicated a not guilty plea to a single charge of causing death by careless driving. The careless driving is alleged to have arisen out of his not having valid insurance to drive the van.
He was bailed to appear before Oxford Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on September 29.
