An alleged public school burglar will face a crown court judge next month.

Raymond Starkings, 33, of Arncott, near Bicester, appeared before Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday accused of burgling Avenue House, a school boarding house and part of St Edward's School, between July 13 and 16 last year.

He has also been charged with breaking into a property in Field House Drive, Summertown, on July 19 last year. Prosecutors claim he stole a mobile phone and a wallet during the burglary.

The charges are indictable-only, meaning a plea can only be taken at the crown court.

The district judge sent his case to the crown court, where Starkings will appear on August 25 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
